Basically, Rhythm Walk is about the path I
walk and the paths we all walk
This site is both a tribute to the path I am
walking as well as a vehicle to aid those on their own individual paths.
The Rhythms I speak and walk are a mesh of truths
I have found through my life . These truths are from
early belief systems that span the planet.
I invite you to explore my sight and the services
I offer in the spirit of learning and with an open heart. I
hope you will find healing and guidance through this site and other
sites I have placed in the links section.

Bits of wisdom
A Cherokee Legend
An old Cherokee is teaching his
grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to
the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is
between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow,
regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment,
inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He
continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope,
serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity,
truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you
- and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for
a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee simply replied,
"The one you feed." |
Great Spirit
Great Spirit,
give us hearts to understand;
Never to take from creation's beauty more than we give;
Never to destroy wantonly for the furtherance of greed;
Never to deny to give our hands for the building of earth's beauty;
Never to take from her what we cannot use.
Give us hearts to understand
That to destroy earth's music is to create confusion;
That to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty;
That to callously pollute her fragrance is to make a house of
stench;
That as we care for her she will care for us.
We have forgotten who we are.
We have sought only our own security.
We have exploited simply for our own ends.
We have distorted our knowledge.
We have abused our power.
Great Spirit, whose dry lands thirst,
help us to find the way to refresh your lands.
Great Spirit, whose waters are choked with debris
and pollution,
help us to find the way to cleanse your waters.
Great Spirit, whose beautiful earth grows ugly
with mis-use,
help us to find the way to restore beauty to your handiwork.
Great Spirit, whose creatures are being
destroyed,
help us to find a way to replenish them.
Great
Spirit, whose gifts to us are being lost
in selfishness and corruption,
help us to find the way to restore our humanity. |
Rhythm:
When we drum, our living flesh,
brainwaves, and spiritual energy centers begin to vibrate in response.
A single-headed frame or hoop drum works best for rhythm healing. The
larger the drum the greater the resonance.
Rhythm healing is an ancient approach
that uses therapeutic rhythm techniques to promote health and
well-being. Rhythms may be used to accelerate physical healing,
stimulate the release of emotional trauma, and produce deeper
self-awareness. This technique has been used for thousands of
years by indigenous cultures around the planet to treat a variety of
conditions.
Rhythm healing relies on the
natural laws of resonance and entrainment to restore the vibrational
integrity of body, mind, and spirit. In resonance, the sound waves
produced by the drum impart their energy to the resonating systems of
the body, mind, and spirit, making them vibrate in sympathy.
The body's electromagnetic field
(Aura), along with internal rhythms such as heartbeat and brain waves
will also entrain with the drum's rhythm. The drum, like all our
relations, is alive, and it is trying to tell you something.
Listen with more than just your ears. To hear the voice of the drum you
must listen with your entire being. --- paraphrased from article
by Michael Drake
